Marimekko Unikko Collection

Maija Isola designed Unikko in 1964, in an act of rebellion against Marimekko's founder (Armi Ratia) who had banned all floral prints. Armi Ratia had stated that 'only nature could create something as beautiful as flowers'.

Maija Isola's Unikko flower however is irresistably seductive and joyous, and has since become a defacto logo for Marimekko.
