Sunday March 17th - Movie Night

Our annual International Women's Day Movie Night this year is being held at Avoca Beach Theatre with an exclusive screening of the Norwegian Film 'Let The River Flow'. All money raised is being donated to MND NSW to support people living with MND in our community. Something very dear to our hearts.

Tuesday March 26th - Våffeldagen / Waffle Day

Join us in the store from 10am - 12pm to celebrate the Scandinavian Waffle Day. We will be serving freshly cooked waffles and coffee all morning 

Thursday March 28th - Easter Fika at Pappa Sven

Visit our pop up Easter bakery with freshly baked buns and other beautiful produce available for sale from our friends at FIKA in Manly.

Wednesday May 22nd - Pappa Sven's Nordic Film Night @ Newcastle Museum

AALTO - A documentary film journey into the life and work of one of the greatest modern architects, Alvar Aalto. The film shares for the first time the intimate love story of Alvar and his architect wife, Aino Aalto.

A Tribute to Tove Jansson - We will have three sessions throughout the day from Moomin through to the story of Tove for you to celebrate this wonderful Finnish author and artist.

Saturday September 28th - Spring Loppis

Our annual Spring Loppis is one of the most exciting days of the year at Pappa Sven. Pre loved, slightly damaged, and discontinued items available in a Swedish loppis style.

This year the Newcastle Finnish school will also have a market stall, selling freshlay baked cinnamon buns, blueberry pie & coffee. All proceed will go to the Finnish school.

Saturday October 5th - Kannelbullens Dag / Cinnamon Bun Day

Join us in the store to enjoy freshly baked cinnamon buns and other treats from Fika Cafe in Manly. Pre Orders can also be made via the Fika Website, or just turn up on the day for our pop up bakery.

Saturday November 2nd - Xmas Apartment Opening & Finnish Bakery

The opening of our much loved Christmas apartment will take place on Saturday November 2nd. The Newcastle Finnish school will also set up a little market stall with freshly baked goods for sale outside of the shop from 10am until sold out.

Friday December 6th - Finnish Independence Day

Join us for a special screening of the Finnish Film Stormskerry Maja, set in the magnificent Finnish archipelago.
