This feature length documentary by Leena Kilpeläinen is in Finnish with English subtitles. Finnish artist & textile designer, Maija Isola, is Marimekko's most prolific designer, in a career which lasted 38 years.

Maija designed more than 500 fabric patterns, which cover an amazingly diverse range of motifs and design techniques. She drew inspiration for her work from traditional folk art and modern visual art alike, from nature and her countless trips around the world. Her designs, such as Unikko (poppy), Kivet (stones), and Kaivo (well), continue to be an essential part of Marimekko and Pappa Sven's collections.

This documentary film looks at who was Maija Isola, what were the values at the centre of this vagabonds life and what kind of a legacy did she leave us?

All proceeds will be donated to HMRI for Ovarian Cancer Research and in support for Jill Emberson's campaign for better funding for Ovarian Cancer research.

Running time: 97mins

Ticket includes a welcome drink on arrival, a short fashion parade featuring some of Maija Isola's most recognised and loved prints followed by a night at the movies.
