October 24, 1975... the women of Iceland took a day off—and inspired the world
Iceland is widely recognized as the world’s most equitable society for women—in large part thanks to the women’s strike that transformed the country 50 years ago, which is why we thought this recently released documentary 'The Day Iceland Stood Still' would be perfect for our annual IWD Nordic Movie Night this year, and we would love you to join us!
All money raised on the night will be donated to a cause, very important to us at Pappa Sven, Motor Neuron Disease Research Centre at Macquarie University.
When? Sunday, March 8th
Time? 5pm for a 5.30pm Screening
Cost? $39 per person which includes a can of Kippis - the traditional Finnish Longdrink on arrival (or sparkling water if you prefer)
TICKETS ARE BEING SOLD DIRECTLY THROUGH TOWER CINEMA
Where? Tower Cinema, King Street Newcastle (Cinema 3, accessible)
Please note seating is limited so we do recommend booking ASAP.
We will also be running a Pappa Sven prize raffle on the evening to add to our donation to the Motor Neurone Disease Research Centre at Macquarie University
