“We Are Greenland — Football is Freedom” tells the story of five Greenlandic football players who, on behalf of their team and nation, are dreaming of being accepted into the global football community. These young men are ambitious, courageous, and disciplined athletes. Their ultimate dream is to compete in World Cup qualifying matches under their own flag. To achieve this, they must overcome the challenges of a political system where football bureaucracy clashes with a small nation’s aspirations for independence.
A great film for anyone with World Cup Fever, a lover of football or interested in the beauty of Greenland and the challenges faced by sporting groups in this remote country.
