Astrid Lindgren is one of the worlds great childrens authors and we love having her books in our store. Most widely known as the author of Pippi Longstocking, Lindgren has a great range of wonderful childrens stories to choose from.
When this story begins, Emil has just carved his ninety-seventh little wooden figure and when it ends he’s already made one hundred and twenty-five of them. So you can work out how many pranks he’s got up to in the meantime. How he’s poured dumpling mixture over his father, for example, and celebrated his hundredth carving jubilee in the wood store and how he shocked them all in Katthult when he put on a Christmas party for everybody at the poorhouse.
The second book about Emil i Lönneberga, one of the most beloved of all of Astrid Lindgren’s characters, and the one she liked best. The stories of Emil are based on her own father Samuel August and everything he told her about his childhood in Småland during the end of the 19th century.
