Svensk Husman - Surströmming Socks
$30.00
Surströmming (Fermented herring) is another one of those unusual Swedish traditions, which is particularly associated to the North of Sweden , where we lived.
Swedes usually eat Surstömming in early August, and there is quite an art to the process. The smell of the fish is not like anything I had ever experienced before. Because of the foul odour the can is usually opened carefully within a container, in the outdoors , to prevent the small of the fish over powering the home. Sounds amazing right!
Anyway it was too much of a great thing when we saw these Surströmming socks and we just had to add them to our growing sock collection!
