We have always been so proud to stock Lapuan Kankurit products in our store, but our recent trip to the mill in Lapua just made us fall in love with their products even more. Totally dedicated to the art of weaving, the environment and supporting Finnish designers from the ground up we just love everything about Lapuan Kankurit!

Heta Vajavaara first came up with the HAVAS blanket’s weave through her own personal weave structure library that she keeps.  “I was instantly drawn to the fun rhythm of the design, and how different colours would uplift and highlight certain aspects of it.”

Heta describes HAVAS as a design with a very traditional starting point that is turned interesting with the variations in the yarn colour and groupings. This creates the geometric rhythm seen throughout the pattern.

This lovely wool blanket contains local Finnsheep wool!
