The Hurmio dress is made of cotton poplin in the Milliruutu pattern, which is printed in Helsinki. The dress has a raised collar with a metal zipper closure in the front, side seam pockets, and a slight A-line cut.

Pentti Rinta designed a wide range of versatile shirtdresses and unisex garments for Marimekko in the early 1970s. The clothes often featured small, restrained geometric prints, such as the Milliruutu (millimeter check) pattern.
