Our beautiful Norwegian friend Synnøve would love to share her Norwegian Beanie pattern with you AND teach you how to make it!
Prior Knowledge
Participants must be able to cast on and be confident with the knit and purl stitch. Please note that this class is not suitable for a complete beginner knitter.
What you will learn:
Over the two sessions you will learn the following skills;
- Long tail cast on
- Continental Knitting technique
- Knitting in the round with 40cm circular needles
- Increasing stitches
- Stranded knitting the Norwegian way, using a chart
- Decreasing stitches (left and right leaning)
- Finishing
- Blocking
Our Teacher Synnøve Mackintosh (Knitsyn on Ravelry)
Synnøve is a passionate Norwegian knitter and designer and an active member of the Newcastle Knitters Guild. Synnøve grew up in Trømso in the very north of Norway and was taught to knit by her mother & grandmother from a very young age. She has a very strong connection to her Nordic heritage and is inspired by the traditional Norwegian patterns she grew up with in creating new designs and projects.
Synnøve is not a qualified teacher but she is passionate about sharing her love and knowledge of knitting with you all.
