Kukasta Kukkkaan

Erja Hirvi brought the joyfully blossoming Kukasta kukkaan print to life during a burst of creativity at her summer retreat, fully immersed in floral inspiration. The loosely conceived pattern emerged as she painted, capturing the myriad of ways flowers appear in nature. The Finnish name of the design translates to “from flower to flower” – a nod to the playful flit of bumblebees among summer blooms.

To celebrate 75 years of joyful printmaking and creative expression, Marimekko introduces a limited anniversary capsule where art, form, and everyday rituals meet.

The collection features two Kukasta kukkaan Oiva mugs in festive anniversary colorways, paired with Kukasta kukkaan ceramic shape plates. Organic forms and playful floral motifs come together to celebrate Marimekko’s enduring love for bold design and thoughtful craftsmanship.

Designed to be used, cherished, and shared, this special capsule captures the spirit of celebration—everyday moments made joyful, for now and for years to come.
