Ribbon

All of these beautiful ribbons are made to order, especially or us, in Sweden...but their story goes much further than us!

A decade before the outbreak of World War II, the German Otto Lemke came to Sweden. Otto was a textile engineer and settled in the textile town of Borås where he worked for many of the town's textile companies. After a while, he got a job at a textile weaving mill in the Småland town of Skillingaryd.
Due to his craftsmanship and drive, he soon reached the top of the weaving mill he worked at. Despite his many successes, Otto still did not feel completely satisfied as he had a dream of starting his own weaving mill in the same town that he had fallen in love with over the years.

In 1934 the dream came true and Smålands Band was founded.  The company is now run by the 4th generation of weavers in the Lemke family.
