Marimekko 2023 Viitta 100% Wool Blanket

Maija Isola’s output of more than 500 fabric prints is an inexhaustible treasure trove. Viitta (beacon) is one of her geometric designs from the 1960s in which we can see her exploring the constructivist movement that was rising in the Finnish art scene at the time together with minimalism and other geometric trends. Constructivism was originally born at the beginning of the 20th century in Russia, greatly influenced modern art and architecture such as the De Stijl and Bauhaus movements. Viitta shows the strict abstraction and solid color surfaces characteristic of the art movement.

We absolutely love this 100% wool blanket, woven in Lithuania featuring Isola's design in primary colourways.
