Marimekko Collection - Lauseke Taifuuni Tunic Top
The Lauseke tunic is made of cotton in the Taifuuni pattern, which is printed in Helsinki. The tunic has an A-line cut, a concealed zipper in the back seam, and cropped sleeves. Printed fabrics are random cut in order to avoid as much unnecessary waste as possible, making each product a unique piece.
Taifuuni (typhoon) belonged originally to a series of patterns based on photographs depicting parts of the human body. The starting point for the Taifuuni pattern was the curve of the shoulder. The model for the photographs was the designer’s daughter.
