Marimekko Summer 2018 Collection Tutuja Lokki Skirt
Maija Isola´s Lokki is one of Marimekko´s most iconic fabrics. The idea came to the artist when she was looking at a window with a curtain drawn across it: the broad folds formed wavelike shadows in the sunshine. Isola executed the final sketch by cutting colour paper with scissors, which gave the waves the trademark living lines evident in the printed fabric.
Made of cotton elastane twill, this A-line skirt is made of the black and off white Lokki pattern. The skirt has side seam pockets, a concealed zipper at the left side seam and ends below the knee. The hem always ends in a black stripe; otherwise the placement of the stripes varies according to size. The material is printed in Helsinki.
